Bury-born performer Layton Williams is to take on the role of Emcee in the hit West End production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.

Layton, who with professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing on the most recent series of Strictly Come Dancing, will join Rhea Norwood in the show.

Rhea, best known as the star of the Netflix series Heartstopper, will play Sally Bowles. Also joining the cast will be Sally Ann Triplett as Fraulein Schneider and Fenton Gray as Herr Schultz.

Layton’s many stage roles include Jamie in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie in the West End, a national tour of Hairspray, Billy in Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace and The Car Man and Lord of the Flies, both for Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.

His TV credits include playing Stephen Carmichael in Bad Education, Benidorm and Beautiful People.

Cabaret marks Rhea’s professional stage and West End debut. Her other screen credits include the Amazon Prime comedy Your Christmas or Mine 2 and the Channel 4 drama Consent.

Sally Ann Triplett’s many West End credits include Mamma Mia, Cats, Chicago, Grease and Acorn Antiques the Musical.

Cabaret has transformed one of London’s most famous theatres with an in-the-round auditorium and reimagined spaces and before the show guests are invited to enjoy and explore the Kit Kat Club.

One of the most successful musicals of all time Cabaret features the songs Wilkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, Money and the title number.

In 2022 the show won a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards and recently celebrated the milestone of 1,000 performances
