BLACKBURN Rovers need not look far for inspiration in their bid to pull off an FA Cup upset tomorrow.

That is the verdict of fired-up Rovers boss Gary Bowyer going into the fourth-round tie with top-flight Swansea City.

Bowyer accepts his Championship side will be firm underdogs for the big Ewood Park encounter.

But he insists the way they performed against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the cup last season gives them hope of causing a shock.

Rovers gave Manuel Pellegrini’s band of multi-millionaires a scare in a thrilling third-round Ewood draw before they were vanquished in the Etihad Stadium replay.

And Bowyer said: “Nobody expects us (to win) expect ourselves in the dressing room.

“We’ll have a right good go at it and try and cause a shock.

“And if we win it would be a shock as we’re a Championship team and they’re a Premiership team.

“We understand the way they play there will be spells in the game when they will have a lot of the ball and it will be how about organised and disciplined we are.

“But we’ve prepared in the same manner as ever and we feel there may be areas we can exploit, cause them some trouble and win the game.

“Nobody in the world gave us any chance of taking Manchester City to a replay and that should fill the boys with a lot of confidence.”

If Bolton Wanderers give Bowyer permission to play on-loan defender Alex Baptiste tomorrow then he will have a full strength squad to choose from.

Bowyer said: “We’re playing a Premiership team who are very pleasing on the eye and so we know whoever we pick has got to be right at it and has got to take the challenge on.

“The players have worked very hard this week in training and you get the feeling there is a sense of excitement because we’re playing a Premiership team, like we did against Manchester City.

“It’s great for their development, it’s great for their learning and it’ll be great to test themselves against Premiership players.

“So it doesn’t matter who is in the XI, we’re all looking forward to it.”

Kick-off tomorrow is at the earlier time of 12.45pm after the match was selected for live television coverage by BBC Wales.
